Winter Snow Thunder Storm

Poor Jaggie, all covered in snow.

This storm moved in the afternoon of Thursday, February 26, 2009. It came around 12:30 pm and we got one inch of snow the first half an hour. With this storm came lightning and thunder. This is not very common and tells what intensity this storm came in at. I can only imagine what kind of thunderstorm this would have been in the summer.

He was covered this much within a half an hour.

This is the view out our front window at about 12:45 pm when it had just started snowing.

This is same shot maybe half an hour later. I couldn't see past the gate.

The birds were hungry and wanting to stock up on their food.

This is a shot off the back of our house when the snow first started.

This is a shot off the back of the house about 30 - 45 minutes later.

Our storm yesterday sure moved fast across the country! LOL We got about 6" but no thunder & lightning thankfully. Not a big deal for many parts of the country at this time of year, but it is totally freakish for us. We 'might' get one little storm like this ONCE over the whole winter. This year we've had snow on the ground since early Dec.!
It's pretty but we're sick of it.

This one was weird. I sat here at around 1 pm listening to thunder that wouldn't stop. A very intense storm. I think that we're supposed to get more snow tomorrow evening too.

I wouldn't say that most snow storms are scary, just a lot of snow. Driving in some of them can be scary. This one, since it had lightning certainly could have been scary. It was a very intense storm.
